Diminution of Value
SDI understands the unforeseen grief that diminution of value can cause when your property is damaged by others and the repair does not return it to its pre-incident value. We value your assets as if they were our own, and want you to be made whole after you have suffered a loss.
Diminution of Value is a measurement of the item’s lost value even after a proper repair. A poor or rushed repair can increase the loss of value even more.
Example: If two identical late model SUVs with the exact same mileage, features, and blemishes were to be sold, and the only distinct difference between the two matching cars was that one of them had been involved in a prior damage incident with considerable repairs, then it would be dishonest to insist that a reasonable person would choose the previously damaged vehicle for the same price.
